The Comal Independent School District is rated a Recognized school district and all campuses in the district are fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency. Four schools are Exemplary and nine schools are Recognized. In addition, each year many CISD schools are recognized by the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) Academic Excellence Indicator System for outstanding performance.
